The Seven Who Wait

The Seven Who Wait fall into another category of venerated non-divine entities entirely: mortal heroes who achieved such remarkable feats during the cataclysm which fractured Lādīka (the moon, not the goddess) that they allegedly transcended normal death.

According to scattered legends, these seven individuals neither ascended to the Celestial Plane nor descended to the Fallen Planes but instead entered a state of suspended animation, awaiting some future crisis that will necessitate their return. Each hero supposedly masters a specific discipline, and rests in a hidden sanctuary corresponding to their domain.

Pilgrims seeking to honor these figures must undertake arduous journeys to these sanctuaries, though the locations themselves remain suspiciously vague in all accounts I’ve studied. The few temples dedicated to their veneration display seven empty thrones arranged in a circle, symbolizing both their absence and potential return.
