Sjovnērans

Constructs

Created through the divine tongue, these fascinating automata begin as pure craftsmanship before being granted consciousness through elaborate rituals. Most feature engraved runes along joints, and crystalline “hearts.” No true Sjovnēran society exists independent of their creators, yet they often develop surprising autonomy within the communities they serve. Some function as guardians, others as repositories of knowledge, and the most sophisticated serve as diplomatic envoys to dangerous regions. The oldest specimens reportedly develop personalities diverging significantly from their original programming.

Since they’re not born but made, Sjovnērans can potentially last indefinitely with proper maintenance, though most show signs of degrading consciousness after 300-400 years. They maintain complex relationships with their creators (typically accomplished mages), serve as objects of fascination for Lak renyks who find their mechanisms irresistibly interesting, and experience particular friction with Elemyks who view them as unnatural imitations of true spirits.

  • Folk Talent - Tireless Function: You never need to sleep and are immune to exhaustion. You ignore the effects of the Tired Tribulation entirely.
  • Folk Talent - Repair Protocols: Your body contains self-repair mechanisms. Once per Rotation, you may use an action to activate these systems and immediately remove any one Tribulation affecting you (except Unconscious).
  • Folk Talent - Emergency Mode: When reduced to 0 Life Points, you do not gain the Unconscious Tribulation. Instead, you remain conscious and can only roll to Endure until healed/ repaired.
