Shelduryks

Turtle Folk

by

Forged by the goddess Denēlia, these turtle-humanoids carry home with them literally; their shells providing both protection and private meditation space when they withdraw inside. Shelduryk communities often occupy coastal regions or lakeshores, constructing partially submerged dwellings that accommodate both swimming and walking. Their settlements grow organically over centuries, with new generations building adjacent to (rather than replacing) ancestral structures.

Their philosophy centers around the concept of “carrying wisdom.” Each Shelduryk collects knowledge throughout their lengthy lives (often reaching 350+ years), and maintain teaching partnerships with shorter-lived races who benefit from their long-term perspective.

  • Folk Talent - Protective Shell: You may spend an action to withdraw into your shell, gaining +2 to all Endurance rolls until your next turn. While withdrawn, you cannot attack or move.
  • Folk Talent - Centenarian Wisdom: Your long lifespan grants perspective. Once per session, you may call upon old memories to gain +2 dice on any single Sage roll.
  • Folk Talent - Strategic Patience: Once per Sequence, you may skip taking your turn in Combat Flow to act at any later point in the same Rotation with a +1 to all rolls.
