Entyks
Insect Folk
by

Conjured by Reīnstīel, these insectoid folk operate on social rules so precise that outsiders invariably blunder through them like drunk bears at a market. Entyks come in specialized body types that loosely correspond to their societal roles: warriors with reinforced exoskeletons, scholars with extra appendages, builders with natural tools. Their hiveminds aren’t literally collective consciousness as rumored, but their group coordination makes it an easy mistake.
The greatest Entyk insult? Individual recognition. I once complimented a master carpenter on their unique technique, only to watch them retreat in shame for standing out. Most Entyks live 15-25 years, though Queens may reach 50. Most maintain trading partnerships with Galyntrans, mutual distrust with Lapynyks (who view them as “creepy”), and carefully negotiated territory boundaries with Ārdans.
- Folk Talent - Metamorphic Molting: Once per sequence, you may shed your exoskeleton to remove one Tribulation (*except Unconscious*) and regain 1d4 Life Points.
- Folk Talent - Chitinous Protection: Your natural exoskeleton provides protection. Gain +2 to all Endurance rolls.
- Folk Talent - Wall Crawler: You can climb any surface regardless of handholds. You may move normally along walls and ceilings without needing to roll Swiftness or Might.
